Lewes, Delaware,     Summary: o Must be able to apply numerous techniques for lifting, moving and transferring patients. o Knowledge of transfer methods to decide which transfer method is the safest choice for each patient. o Competent in patient lifting, transfer, positioning and transport. o Competent in providing patient safety during movement. o Knowledgeable in CPR, infection control, customer relations, equipment management and associated policies and procedures. o Work with the healthcare team to perform purposeful rounding on the units utilizing pre-defined response criteria   Other information: o Patient care experience preferred. Must possess ability to easily and frequently lift greater than 50 pounds and pull push greater than 200 pounds. No lifting limitations. Demonstration of prior experience in positions requiring strong communication skills and customer service skills. Basic Life Support (BLS or CPR).

Successfully complete training required for the Lift Team, Transport Team and patient services orientation. Completion of training on body mechanics with Physical Therapy Department and a mandated reevaluation of physical competence of the job duties every 6 months or as deemed necessary by the manager upon work evaluation. Demonstration of an on-going exercise program. Reimbursement for gym membership available up to $240 annually. Ability to read, write, compute basic math and . Ability to work under pressure; able to communicate with patients, hospital staff and visitors. Ability to perform routine repetitive duties using several well defined procedures under close supervision. . Able to meet the heavy functional demands listed on the below page with no restrictions.   Responsibilities: Patient Transfer: Transport patient through hospital facility using all safety equipment and precautions.

Transferring patients via wheelchair, stretcher, to vehicles, accompanying ambulatory patients and use of any other transfer equipment available. Patient Lifting: An expert in all safety equipment to be used to transfer and lift patients. Work with appropriate number of team members to lift patients safely. Patient Safety: Utilizes all safety equipment including but not limited to: gait belt, brakes on the stretchers and beds, and lifting devices. Timely Response to Pages and / or Timely Dispatching of Patient Escort Team Members: Maintains availability and communication with department via walkie-talkie and phone and capacity management/careaware. MUST respond to all request within 10 minutes. Receives and Prioritizes Patient Escort trips, and requested items for departments. Keeps an accurate log of safe lift technician duties and submits the log at the end of each shift to designated area. Accurately reports any problems or concerns to the charge nurse, nurse supervisor or nurse manager. Cleans and maintains stretchers and wheelchairs after each patient use.

Utilized the Green is clean tape on equipment that is cleaned and maintains supplies at cleaning stations. Care and treatment: assists with positioning, turning, lifting, and ambulating patients. Assist with patient movement during complex dressing changes, patient care, etc. Gives accurate handoff report to on-coming shift. Work with the health care team to perform purposeful hourly rounding.
