Flagstaff, Arizona, Pediatric Intensivist Opportunity in Arizona’s Destination for all Seasons Pediatrix is seeking a full-time Pediatric Intensivist to join our practice at Flagstaff Medical Center in Flagstaff, Arizona. Practice Details: Flagstaff Medical Center treats over 450 peds patients and 150 PICU patients annually 14 beds that can flex to PICU or Pediatric patients PICU physicians work 24-hour shifts (rounding during the day, call from home at night) In-house Nurse Practitioner support 1900 â“ 0700 for most nights, with plan to move to 24 hours in-house in near future PICU physicians cross-cover pediatric patients at night with in-house NP Robust pediatric trauma service with ACS fellowship trained adult trauma surgeons Pediatric subspecialty consultation available via phone and tertiary level children’s hospital with multispecialty support 2 hours away New hospital construction currently in planning stages Group Details: Join 3 full-time tenured Pediatric Intensivists Average 8. 5 shifts (24 hour) per month Opportunity for Medical Directorship within 2 years Region Details High-altitude environment with PICU at 7,034 feet elevation Cool summer months Mountain biking, hiking, downhill skiing, cross country skiing, rock climbing available locally with true desert experiences one hour away Grand Canyon is 80 miles away offering full moon rim rides, hiking challenges, amazing scenery If you enjoy the outdoors this is a beautiful place to live.
