Primary Purpose:
The Pharmacy Undergraduate Programs
Success Coach supports the University’s strategic plan by providing students personal, academic and career coaching where success, program
retention and progression are priority aspects of the position. They will provide group as well as one-on-one support of at-risk students
and work with the program administrators to monitor student progress in the program. They will serve as a resource to students, faculty
advisors and program administrators so that students are aligned with various campus-wide resources supporting their individualized needs.
Student success coaching will also include; academic counseling and advising students about academic and program related requirements and
regulations as well as all requirements relevant to students’ advancement/admissions into the professional pharmacy program and requirements
for graduation. Advising will also focus on success aspects that include self-awareness, goal setting, time management, study skills and
learning. The position supports program advancement efforts as well as compliance with program admissions process, university undergraduate
policies, procedures and accreditation standards.
The Pharmacy Undergraduate Programs Success Coach reports to the Associate Dean for
Pharmacy Undergraduate Programs.
Essential Functions:
- Independently provides educational guidance, support and
assistance for students by planning schedules, developing academic plans, aiding students in the course selection process, recommending
courses and determining appropriate education solutions for students with an emphasis of work focused on those in academic difficulty. - Monitors student progress and goals achievement.
- Maintains communication with the program specialist, director, and primary
faculty advisers. - Develops and maintains student progress, advising and tracking reports.
- Advises students of the program
and the programs degree requirements, admissions requirements and regulations and advancement and graduation. - Counsels students
regarding placement within program levels and monitors compliance with program requirements throughout the students undergraduate
studies. - Counsels students through academic and personal challenges facilitating appropriate referrals to campus resources when
needed. - Develops and implements programs and workshops that facilitate group and personal learning and enhance learning
development, self-awareness, goal setting, time management and achievement. - Frequently consults with and maintains a strong working
relationship with faculty and faculty advisors in order to enhance student programmatic, academic and personal success. - Maintains
student and program records, faculty advisor-student records and files relevant to progression. - Attends office meetings and serves
on relevant committees as needed or requested. - Meets and interacts with prospective students, parents and families; provides
academic counseling, and assesses academic appropriateness, academic plans and education progress. - Exercises confidentiality,
discretion, and judgment while handling sensitive interpersonal issues. - Performs other related duties as
assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree.
- Three (3) years of experience in coaching/counseling
students or academic support counseling. - Two (2) years of experience coordinating, developing and orchestrating meaningful
programing for students related to academic preparedness and personal success.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters
Degree in higher education or an area related. - Ability to administer, interpret and plan programming based on assessments related
to self-awareness, interpersonal strengths and cognition. - Demonstrated understanding of and experience with students in a science
or health major taking science or health related STEM education and coursework. - Demonstrated ability to exercise independent
judgement and discretion with respect to matters related to essential functions and the primary purpose of the position. - Understanding or experience with pre-pharmacy and pharmacy education programming, application processes and accreditation.
- Experience with data management and data maintenance and data interpretation.
- Three (3) years of experience advising students
and families about academic issues, strategic learning, academic and personal success. - Understanding of pharmacy school admissions
requirements and personal development. - Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
- Ability to engage and
integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Work Environment/Work Week/Travel:
Work is mostly performed in a standard office environment with use of standard
office equipment (computer, telephone, printer, copier, etc.). Work is typically performed during standard business hours but evening and/or
weekend work flexibility will be needed for programs and events. Occasional travel will also be required.
Hiring Range:
$64,480 per year. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates qualifications,
internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
