The Piano Technician is responsible for repairing, tuning, voicing, and regulating actions for
Slosberg pianos using specialized tools and instruments in accordance with professional standards and procedures, as well as for maintaining
and arranging repairs for this equipment. Additional responsibilities may include working with faculty, staff, and visiting artists on their
equipment needs for work and performance. Job responsibilities require strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to self-direct
work and accomplish tasks in a professional and timely manner under limited supervision. 

This is a part-time position – 17.5
hours a week and is eligible for benefits

Job Responsibilities:

1. Provides specialized piano repair services,
including but not limited to tuning, voicing, regulation, repairs, piano action refurbishing, and preventative maintenance.

2.
Prepares concert hall pianos for all performances on a regular schedule.

3. Provides recommendations for the optimal maintenance,
long-term care, and oversight of the departmental piano inventory, including the development of schedules for tunings, voicing, and regular
scheduled maintenance. Manages piano maintenance budget.

4. Maintains records and provides expertise regarding the effects of
humidity and temperature changes on the piano fleet.

5. Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading,
developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses as
directed by the supervisor.

6. Works with faculty, staff, and visiting artists to identify and resolve equipment needs and
concerns.
