Santa Fe, New Mexico, Description Under general supervision of the Facility Services Director and according to established procedures, performs repairs and maintenance of hospital equipment and plumbing fixtures. This includes preventive maintenance of the facility and cleaning of all equipment. Repair and installation of plumbing, waste lines, fixtures and equipment. Requirements EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational/technical schooling preferred. CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: New Mexico State Journeyman Plumbers license, or must attain within eight months of hire. Valid New Mexico driver’s license. SKILLS: Soldering and welding, pipe fitting, boiler controls, plumbing systems, mechanical and electrical knowledge. EXPERIENCE: Five years commercial plumbing service experience required. NATURE OF SUPERVISION: -Responsible to: Director, Facilities Services ENVIRONMENT: – Bloodborne pathogen – C Hazards include infectious waste, airborne particles, cleaning drains, dust, lint, metal, electrical shock, biological waste and high temperature gasses.
Safety equipment furnished by hospital PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Heavy effort is required. Must be capable of lifting and carrying 50 lbs. Must be able to climb and work from ladders up to twenty-four feet in height. Eyesight, hearing and coordination must be good. Must be physically able to operate motorized vehicles with proper licenses.
