Job Description

PreProfessional Advisor

Job Summary

The Academic Advising Center at the University
of Utah promotes a transformative undergraduate experience by advocating for and empowering undergraduate students as they explore, develop,
and take responsibility for achieving their academic goals. We provide high-quality advising services to undergraduate students and the
campus community through appointments, outreach, presentations, curriculum, and collaboration with campus partners. We serve as the academic
home for exploring students-those exploring majors, professional paths, or tools for success.

Under the supervision of the Assistant
Director of PreProfessional Advising (PPA), this academic advisor will work with undergraduate students who are
interested in pursuing specified preprofessional courses of study (e.g., medical, dental, pharmacy). This advisor will provide information
and guidance on a range of academic issues, including the preparation for and application process for admission to health-related graduate
programs. PPA provides advising and recommendations for how students can be broadly competitive applicants to
their health programs of choice, not just programs available at the University of Utah. The individual selected for this position will be
fully trained in all aspects of both health professions and general academic advising, as well as selective training for major exploration
and academic standards. We are looking to hire an individual committed to access and education, passionate about working with students
interested in health professions, and proactive in championing causes that elevate students and the field of advising.

Like all
members of the Academic Advising Center team, this position will assist the university in promoting a climate of respect and equity that
cultivates and sustains transformative spaces of possibility where people feel safe, valued, welcomed, and respects all students in their
quest for individual success through degree programs, certificates, majors, etc.
