Job Description

The Entertainment Technology Center (ETC) is the premiere professional graduate program for interactive entertainment as it’s applied across a variety of fields. Founded in 1998 with Randy Pausch and Don Marinelli as the co-directors. The faculty and staff worked together to articulate our academic mission which focuses on educational goals and creative development. And we also created an R&D Agenda exploring transformational games, innovation by design and interactive storytelling. Throughout, we work to prepare students to graduate as creative professionals.

Carnegie Mellon University’s ETC is searching for Production Artists. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing essential support by preparing final art for university print, digital and specialty graphics communications.

The Production Artist will report to the Creative Director and will primarily work amongst a fast-paced team of project managers and graphic designers and is responsible for:

  • Preparing final art for university print, digital and specialty graphics communications.
  • Projects that include simple to complex artwork for pre-press print jobs, signs, architectural didactics, web page building using the university’s content management system (CMS) and email development based on pre-designed templates.
  • Producing print-ready art for Carnegie Mellon University communications across a variety of print and digital channels.
  • Maintaining a high level of quality assurance through engaging proofreading services and preparing final art files correctly at professional standards.

You should demonstrate:

  • Efficient ability to provide production support in collaboration with the creative team, vendors, project managers and other constituents as required (online team, photo/video team, other M&C departments, clients et)
  • Ability to maintain a high level of understanding of the institution’s brand standards and is responsible for how to properly build, maintain and distribute assets of the brand.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 1-3 Years of experience

  • This is a fixed term position with an estimated assignment duration of 2-3 months.
