Gettysburg College, in historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, is seeking a dynamic and innovative individual who has a strong administrative
and collaborative background to serve in this full-time position as the Program Coordinator for the Office of Multicultural Engagement.
Gettysburg College is a highly selective, residential undergraduate liberal arts college, which enrolls approximately 2,400
students.
The Program Coordinator is a member of the College Life Division and directly serves the Office of Multicultural
Engagement (OME), advising and mentoring students as the initial contact person for students seeking guidance and support. The person in
this position needs to be highly-motivated; manage details with expertise and professionalism; and, establish working relationships with
office staff, student workers, advisors to student groups, and other offices, faculty, and staff on campus. Serving as the primary
administrative support person to the OME, the Program Coordinator will support departmental programs/services and take the lead on select
initiatives which provide support focusing on traditionally underrepresented populations and first-generation students. The program
coordinator plays a large role in supporting the recruitment, transition, and persistence of historically underrepresented students.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as departmental primary point of contact for students, faculty, and staff and
provides oversight for the reception and welcome area of the OME. - Serves as the main programmatic assistant for OME, including
implementation of pre-orientation, outreach & educational cross-cultural events, student support services/programs, and fund-raising
initiatives. This may include preparing and reviewing contracts, obtaining guest biographies and photos, and making necessary logistical
arrangements for all programming, including advertising and marketing. - Manages day-to-day operations of OME including but not
limited to: complex clerical/secretarial services, student worker supervision and payroll, general office correspondence, departmental
budgeting, maintaining departmental calendars, and ordering/inventory of supplies and equipment for the OME. - Compiles data and
aids with the preparation and processing of required reporting. - Handles sensitive student information with confidentiality and
discretion. - Assists with maintenance of webpage and social media accounts, including the promotion of events.
- Counsels,
advises, and mentors students. - Provides support and consultation to student groups for events and activities, including marketing
and social media efforts. - Serves as a representative on campus committees as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; bachelor’s degree and at
least 2 years of administrative experience or project management/event planning is preferred. - The ideal candidate will have
experience and passion for working with diverse and underrepresented student populations, including supervision. - Must have
knowledge of general office practices and procedures, data utilization/reporting, and program planning/implementation. - Strong
interpersonal and intercultural communication skills.

The Program Coordinator is a full-time, support staff position with reduced summer hours. Pay range
for this position is $18.00-$20.00 per hour and is complemented by an available benefits package including medical and dental insurance,
