Anticipated Hiring Range is $5,025 – $5,200 per month.

About the Department/Position:
Under the general direction of
the Latinx Cultural Resource Center (LCRC) Program Director, the Program Coordinator actively provides support to daily operations of the
LCRC, plans and executes yearly LCRC programs and services, supports programming budget management, provides student leadership development,
community building, and program assessment.
The Program Coordinator works collaboratively with center staff, campus departments,
advisory committees, and community organizations to coordinate programming related to the needs of CSUDH Latina/o/x/e students.
The
Program Coordinator is responsible for creating a safe space aimed at supporting the educational access, success, retention, and graduation
pursuits of Latinx students. In addition, the Program Coordinator will lead campus educational programs and services specific to experiences
of Latinx students and Latinx community needs. This position is responsible for assisting with LCRC’s programming development and
implementation, advocating and supporting Latinx students on campus, and training and development of faculty, staff, students and community
partners for the LCRC. The Program Coordinator will assist the Program Director in the day-to-day administrative operations of the LCRC
which include but are not limited to: managing physical space of the center, maintain accurate budget expense for programming and
coordinating additional resources for students, campus outreach, collaborative programming, and developing the learning outcomes and
assessment of the LCRC’s programs.
The position may require evening and weekend work as needed.
Overview of Duties
and Responsibilities:
- Assist Program Director in designing and implementing culturally affirming and responsive
programs, activities, and forums that outreach to CSUDH faculty, staff, students, and to the surrounding community. - Designs and
implements intentional and holistic programs to increase understanding and awareness of multicultural issues, especially as they relate to
Latinx students’ issues. - Serves to heighten awareness of Latinx students, the challenges they face, and the opportunities they
have to succeed. Partners with support services and initiatives to increase the retention and persistence of Latinx students. - Assists with providing crisis intervention, support, and advocacy for students, faculty, and staff and provides resources and referrals
to campus and community agencies related to various concerns. - Networks and collaborates with various campus departments and
student organizations to develop, design, and conduct programs to outreach and inform the campus community on diversity, social justice, and
multiculturalism as they affect Latinx students.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience: Three (3)
years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience. One year in the program area to which assigned may be
preferred but is not required.
*A master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a directly related
field may be substituted for one year of experience. A doctorate degree and the appropriate internship or clinical training in counseling or
guidance may be substituted for the three years of experience for positions with a major responsibility for professional career or personal
counseling.
- Education: Graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field, including or supplemented by
upper division or graduate course work in counseling techniques, interviewing, and conflict resolution where such are job-related.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of current and historical statewide and national Latinx
student movement and historical issues impacting Latinx student success. - Working knowledge and competence in area of diversity
education, program development and implementation, student development, assessment, and evaluation. - Knowledge and experience
working with multi-cultural/multi-ethnic populations; students that are historically under-represented, underprepared, low-income, and
first-generation college students. - Ability to orient Latinx students to the culture of the institution and provide support
services to help Latinx students achieve their personal, academic, and professional goals. - Ability to plan, develop, coordinate,
and organize programs and activities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three (3) to five (5) years
professionally-related program support and coordination experience. - Knowledge and understanding about unique issues that impact
Latinx students. - Knowledge and practice of student development theory, individual counseling techniques, group counseling and
advising practices, and current trends/issues related to college students working knowledge of the methods and problems of organization and
program management. - Ability to respond to sensitive situations that involve discrimination, racism, and access to equitable
educational and career opportunities. - Skills in development and promoting awareness of Latinx student issues and cultural
identities through campus-wide events, student programs, and departmental services. - Ability to promote and deepen the
understanding of the challenges faced specifically by Latinx students. - Ability to effectively train and supervise students and
complete all associated student personnel actions in a timely and accurate manner.
