This exciting position provides oversight of the Associate of Applied Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. The Program Director is responsible for the overall organization, administration, periodic review, continued development, and general effectiveness of the program. As a valued member of the leadership team, the Program Director reports to the dean, and serves as one of the primary representatives of the College of Pharmacy and Health Professions. The Program Director has shared responsibility for developing and following the strategic plan that supports the mission, goal and objectives of the Program, College, and University. The Program Director is responsible for working effectively and collegially with the other members of the leadership team and to represent their Program. This is an excellent opportunity to work with, educate, and mentor our future sonography technicians and our team of educators on our Vallejo campus, located in the beautiful Bay Area. Responsibilities • Responsible for directing/administrating the Program’s master plan of education in such a manner as to produce a professional (Sonographic Technologist) in the health care field that will assist Physicians to diagnose and aid in the treatment of seriously ill patients. • Prepares for and teaches courses every semester. • Conducts regular meetings.

• Develops an assessment plan to ensure the effectiveness of the Program. • Prepares agendas for Advisory Committee meetings. • Assesses student learning outcomes at the course, programmatic and institutional level. • Maintains educational materials and resources. • Coordinates student advisement. • Acts as liaison between Program and clinical affiliates. • Maintains radiation monitoring records in coordination with Clinical Coordinator. • Participates in Quality Assessment and continuous quality improvement activities. • Participates in Department and Administrative Conferences. • Maintains program accreditation, program outcomes and effectiveness data.

• Coordinates faculty Continuing Education Program. • Complies with radiation safety and other regulatory standards. • Contributes to continuous revision of the Sonography program. • Provides oversight for maintenance of all equipment. • Works with regulatory and accreditation bodies to ensure program compliance. • Expands articulation agreements with higher education institutions. • Works with faculty and Clinical Coordinator to provide quality clinical experiences. • Develops and implement the Program mission, vision, goals and objectives. • Oversees and ensures appropriate workload distribution among Program faculty. • Conducts annual performance reviews and goal setting for faculty and other personnel affiliated with the Program.

• Recruits and retains highly qualified faculty and personnel. • Recruits and retains highly qualified students. • Supports curricular and programmatic initiatives (e. g. interprofessional education). • Supports the policies and procedures of the Program, College and University. • Performs other activities and services as assigned by the Dean. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (if applicable): • Faculty within the Program • Personnel supporting the Program (e. g. staff, adjuncts) Qualifications • The Program Director must hold a master’s degree in related academic discipline, with a doctoral degree preferred.

• The Director must have a strong commitment to the professional development of sonography technology students and the advancement of the imaging profession. • The Director should have a record of excellence in teaching, research, and service and have reached the academic rank of Associate Professor • Experience with a Medical Imaging program with a sonography background preferred.
