Schedule: Full-Time The role you’ll contribute: The Rocky Mountain Regional Chief Medical Information Officer (Regional CMIO), is responsible for oversight and coordination of all clinical activity associated with or impacted by AdventHealth Clinical IT Systems, including acute, post-acute, and ambulatory practices within the Region and Market. The Regional CMIO partners with the Market Medical Groups, clinical operational leadership, facility Chief Medical Officers and Chief Nursing Officers, Chiefs of Staff, and operational leadership, Regional CIOs and Regional CMIOs, to achieve best practices and promote clinical excellence, open feedback, and consumer engagement, through the use of clinical information technology. The Regional CMIO collaborates with the other AdventHealth Regional CMIOs, the Division VP/CMIO, the Ambulatory, Post-Acute and Community Connect VP/CMIO, the VP of Evidence Based Medicine and Regional CIOs to deliver a single consistent message that is shared with the Informatics Team and front-line clinicians across the acute, post-acute, ambulatory, home and long-term care venues. The value you’ll bring to the team: Establish an open line of communication with the administrative and clinical leadership at the market facilities that have been assigned as the Regional CMIO’s focus of responsibility. Serve as the key representative and advocate for AdventHealth physicians, APPs and clinicians by developing an understanding of their needs and building relationships with them that will promote effective engagement, adoption of AdventHealth Clinical IT and organizational strategies and initiatives.
Advise the Market executive teams in their Clinical IT discussions that could impact clinicians, patient care, patients, and/or consumer satisfaction. Provide insight and recommendations related to clinical workflow, process improvement, patient safety, clinical reporting, and analytics initiatives, to drive best practices. Assist in implementing strategies for training and change management, to better engage market physicians and clinicians in the use of current clinical technology systems and the planning for future innovation. Act as an advocate for the clinicians, and ultimately the patients and consumers, by communicating with physicians and clinicians about the benefits of adopting technology to improve care, while acting as a conduit to provide their feedback to AIT, the Division CMIO, and Market leadership. Work with the Division CMIO and Market clinical teams, to facilitate the flow of information between the various acute, post-acute, ambulatory, community and non-AdventHealth venues of care, to provide clinicians with the information needed to arrive at the best clinical decision and by keeping them well-informed of planned changes. Help to leverage the investments that have been made in the EHR and other advanced clinical and non-clinical technologies, by clearly communicating their benefits and facilitating their adoption. Focus on safety for patients and clinicians. Advocate for “Speak up for Safety” and partner with the various technology teams to identify, stop, investigate, correct and avoid issues that could potentially negatively impact patients. Vigorously support the journey toward a single, integrated EHR platform across all venues of care at AdventHealth. Work to ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed: MD or DO with a minimum of 5 years of post-residency clinical practice providing direct patient care. Current, unrestricted US Medical License. Initial or current Board Certification in an ACGME approved medical specialty. Clinical systems experience with focus on computerized provider order entry, Clinical IT adoption, electronic documentation, clinical decision support, and the connected continuum of care. Residency trained in one of the 35 ACGME approved medical specialties. Proven successful track record leading the implementation of clinical information systems and technologic initiatives. Knowledge of major trends in healthcare, managed care, clinical systems, information technology, genomics, point of care products, clinical informatics, regulatory oversight and consumer needs and preferences, Exceptional people, management, and leadership skills with the capacity to work effectively with diverse populations and relate to people in a manner that wins confidence and conveys respect. Strong organizational abilities and the flexibility to adjust to changing conditions. Able to effectively express ideas and views through public speaking, presentations, reports and professional correspondence.
