Orlando, Florida, The Research Lab Manager works with minimal supervision and performs assignments independently as discussed and approved by Principal Investigator, Program administrator, and/or senior lab staff. Serves as the primary contact for the day-to-day laboratory operations, ensures safety requirements are met, and maintains laboratory equipment and overall organization. Ensures viability of materials, reagents, and specimens, as well as orders supplies and maintains laboratory materials. Oversees and independently performs experiments and procedures in support of developing and ongoing projects. Contributes to the planning, design and modification of studies and experiments in the research lab setting. Monitors results, reports unusual outcomes/errors, and suggests modifications. Collects, enters, summarizes, and analyzes data as needed. Oversees and assists with the training of students, interns, residents, fellows, and temporary and permanent lab personnel in lab techniques. Participates and presents at research laboratory meetings and contributes to writing of manuscripts and/or grant proposals. Builds and fosters professional relationships including other departments enterprise wide.
Qualified applicants should have a M. S. in Biology/Cell Biology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology (or equivalent field) or a B. S. in Biology (or equivalent field) plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant research and lab management experience.
