Job Summary

This role will form part of the team focusing on the processes and technologies employed within the Investment Operations team of the Alternative Fund Services division of JP Morgan. The Operations team is responsible for the flow of external data into the platform as well as the maintenance and accuracy of that data once in the platform.

The team supports fund accounting in the NAV production process and interacts with multiple FA teams globally on a wide variety of areas. Areas include trade capture, pricing, corporate actions, reference data, loan processing, broker reconciliation data, OTC and margin settlements and more. This role will be primarily focused on daily BAU tasks but with scope to assist the Middle Office team.

Job responsibilities:

  • Perform and review trade capture processing, accrued income and valuation checks for all daily and monthly clients
  • Ensure that all static and reference data is accurately captured and maintained on the system
  • Responsible for ensuring any corporate action events are processed timely and accurately
  • Knowledge of and ability to learn/work on various asset types such as, equities, fixed income, OTCs, bank loans, swaps etc, to fully support clients and internal stakeholders
  • Perform position and cash reconciliations on various instruments in client portfolios
  • Analysis and mapping of external data into internal systems.
  • Work with external brokers to get required client files delivered to our systems
  • Provide local support to fund accounting teams in all AFS locations
  • Partner with technology teams to help identify product development, product enhancements, technology improvement opportunities, and system testing to ensure products continue to operate effectively and accurately
  • Must be able to adapt to working in a controlled environment and comply with JPMC Policies.
  • Work on projects as required by industry mandate, process improvement plans or client requirements

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Recent Graduate with 1-2years experience
  • Bachelor degree with preference in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • Demonstrate an ability to think strategically
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements
  • Self-motivated and proactive with the proven ability to work accurately and under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills for internal and external communication
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Knowledge of operations and accounting processes and technologies desirable but not necessary
  • Working knowledge of Bloomberg, Reuters, MarkIt and other data sources desirable but not necessary
  • Experience working with automation applications such as Xceptor, Alteryx or other RPA/ETL applications desirable but not necessary
