The Dayton VA Medical Center (DVAMC) is actively recruiting a highly qualified Board-Certified Physician to be our next Chief of Staff to help care for our Veterans – American’s Heroes. The Chief of Staff is fully responsible to Medical Center Director for programs of patient care and the research activities for the clinical services. The Dayton VA Medical Center is affiliated with Wright Patterson AFB Medical Center and eleven (11) other community hospitals. It is a Joint Commission accredited, 1c/high complexity, 356 bed teaching facility serving more than 45,000 Veterans in Western Ohio & Eastern Indiana. The Chief of Staff:
Formulates and recommends plans for the comprehensive program of medical care.
Develops the requirements of staff, facilities, equipment and supplies needed to carry forward such an integrated program utilizing necessary review and controls.
Appraises the effectiveness of the various medical programs in meeting the patient care.
Is actively involved in the management of resources for the facility.
Monitors and ensures medical staff compliance with agency regulations, medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations, facility policies, Joint Commission standards and other appropriate regulations.
Creates an environment of system oriented continuous quality improvement within which programs and quality of care effectiveness are evaluated.

Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S.

Dayton has just over 165,000 residents and is Ohio’s sixth largest city.
