Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business is excited to hire a Senior Academic Advisor and Program Manager to join the undergraduate programs team in a position that works directly with students to support their curricular experience, student organization leaders, and leads key community events for undergraduate students.
Your core responsibilities will include:

Provide academic advising to undergraduate business students navigating their academic experience by reviewing curriculum progress towards degree completion and supporting personal, educational, and career goal development.

Conduct individual advising sessions via in-person and virtual meetings on registration, course exploration and selection, campus resources, and opportunities.

Document advising notes after individual student interactions.

Contribute to student success and retention by providing data points and reviewing analysis.

Encourage student engagement with campus resources and support services to promote academic success, self-advocacy, and well-being.

Collaborate with campus partners (faculty, housefellows, and academic advisors) to provide frequent touchpoints and identify interventions for students with academic concerns.

Liaison with Tepper undergraduate student organizations including leadership development, funding allocations, advancing belonging and community interactions, and cross-organization partnerships.

Lead Tepper anchor event coordination (Spirit Day, Harvest Fest, and TepperFest) for the student community.

Attend and contribute to staff meetings, advisor professional development opportunities, and major campus events (i.e., orientation, commencement).

Other duties assigned as special projects.

Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Counseling or Higher Education preferred
-
5-8 years of experience required
-
Or a combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is proven may be considered
