As a Senior Engineer – Avionics, you will ensure the delivery of specialist professional engineering advice in the relevant field; Exercise mature judgement; Responsible for major projects and/or programs; Supervision of organisation unit as applicable. You will be an expert in the Avionics field and exercise a mature professional engineering judgment in a broad range of fields.

You’ll have –

  • Professional Engineering degree qualifications in Avionics, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or equivalent.

  • Extensive experience with development and approval of engineering instructions for Avionics repairs and modifications to Boeing or Airbus aircraft in the Line maintenance / Heavy Maintenance type environment.

  • Provide timely customer-focused specialist engineering advice and support to the Qantas Group.

  • Thorough working knowledge of CASR Part 21 regulations. An understanding of EASA and FAA regulations is desirable.

  • Managed small/medium design projects or tasks to meet stakeholder requirements.

  • Prioritize and manage multiple conflicting deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Proven organizational and communication skills, with an ability to translate complex technical information clearly and concisely.

  • Highly developed skills in problem solving and analytical thinking.

  • Ability to manage expectations of customers in line with relevant service level agreements.

  • Detailed knowledge of procedures and processes for continuing airworthiness of Qantas and customer aircraft.

  • Comprehensive understanding of Qantas and customer maintenance operations.

  • Commitment to being customer focused team member with flexibility and willingness to contribute to other business projects and interdisciplinary functions as required.
