BDUK is a subsidiary of the Boeing Company and currently employs over 1,700 people in the UK. BDUK is responsible for delivering several exciting contracts to our UK Defence customers including E-7 AEW&C, P-8A Maritime Patrol Aircraft, Through Life Support for the Chinook and Apache Fleets, Logistic Information Services and Training Services.

BDUK Operations is an MAA approved part 145 aircraft maintenance repair organisation delivering maintenance to the Chinook, Apache and Poseidon aircraft with additions to the approval for aircraft such as the Wedgetail shortly on the horizon.

In order for the operations function to manage this growth and lead special projects within the team such as support to international customers and new programmes through proposal and mobilisation into execution BDUK Operations are looking for a Senior Manager to join our team and lead proposals, growth and standardisation across our MRP Part 145 Organisation (AMO/MRO) across multiple sites and platforms.

Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, this role will be varied and requires regular interaction with other internal BDUK Programmes and Functions to ensure the MRO can meet the needs of all programmes. This is a full-time role based in Bristol with hybrid working options. Occasional travel to other sites may be required.

Examples of key tasks include:

Act as senior Leader to front line leaders owning the following areas:

  • People growth through our apprentice programmes
  • Maintenance management of international customers
  • Aircraft and off wing production support

Additionally, directly lead the team and act as a key contributor supporting proposal development and solution design for aircraft maintenance services.

Also lead mobilisation activities for all new BDUK aircraft maintenance services ensuring what is handed over to the Execution teams is safe, efficient and innovative.

Preferred Qualifications and experience:

  • Extensive MRO experience in a Senior Manager/manager capacity
  • Experience of leading teams across multiple functions
  • EASA Part 66 Licence/Aerospace Engineering degree is desirable
  • An ability of flexibility to support multiple locations
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in verbal and in written form.
  • Experience of project management
  • Good knowledge and understanding of commercial/defence airline maintenance/modification and engineering operations.
  • Detailed knowledge of industry and regulatory requirements as applicable to the operation and support of major modifications.
