JOB SUMMARY
T his role will support Director, Media , Greater China in planning and managing the owned social media team, execution and optimization of Marriott’s owned media efforts in Greater China. This person will play as an owned social media strategy designer by considering both channel and content effectiveness, leading the social media planning work from brand marketing, area marketing to performance marketing. The perfect outcome for him/her will be fully leverage social media ecosystem to drive brand/loyalty KPI and performance marketing KPI.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
- Leading the Owned Channel development for Marriott Bonvoy in Greater China:
- Wechat OA: We expect the candidate know how to more engage with fans through content better arrangement, data mining to better understand fans, process optimization to work more efficient.
- Red OA: We expect the candidate know the unique platform position within all social channels, and capable to integrate paid resource to owned media
- Douyin: We need a hands on person who can lead the setup of the Douyin account of MBV. The candidate shall have a strong sense of short video viral approach and how to balance between awareness building and performance driven within Douyin.
- We also have Weibo OA and Line TW OA. We expected the candidate can sharpen the strategy of these 2 nd channels as well for MBV.
- The candidate will take the lead of the whole Greater China Owned media team, with 2 of team members reporting him/her. We expect the candidate can help grow her team member from aspects of business skill and teamwork spirit.
- The candidate will be supported by a social agency for the daily works. We expect the candidate can maintain a great relationship with the agency and ensure them to delivery a best class outcome with

- The candidate is also expected to role as the key contact window to all the internal stakeholders for all social media relative work. We expect the candidate has a strong presentation capability of presenting social proposal in Chinese or English.
- The candidate is also expected to travel around and give social media training to Marriott’s property in China regularly
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
- More than 10 years of social media industry experience (Both Agency or in house experience are fine)
- College degree in Internet Technology, Marketing, Advertising, Business or related field
- Experience with travel industry, hospitality and/or Internet Technology is a plus
- Must be fluent in written and verbal Chinese and English
- More than 5 years of team leader experience
Experiences applicable to the Job
- Good at social media strategy development and clear understanding China social media situation and its different role in communication
- Understanding the Wechat, Douyin, Red ecosystem, and experienced with the owned channel operations
- Solid understanding of media technologies, trends and industry best practices in China
- Strong with digital media planning, from awareness building, engagement to conversation to real sales outcome
- Demonstrated experience and success in a highly matrixed cross functional organization
- Experience with Line, Facebook will be a plus
