Boise, Idaho, Overview St. Luke’s Health System in Boise, ID is seeking a Skilled Trades Technician 3 to join our Skilled Trades team. Unit/Position Summary The Skilled Trades Technician 3, under minimal supervision, is responsible for maintaining and repairing facilities, buildings, and equipment for the organization. Ensures compliance with company policies as well as applicable state and federal regulations. Individual incumbents may specialize in one or more of the function areas of the Skilled Trades listed below: Electrician:The Electrician assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.
* Uses hand tools and testing instruments to diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components and isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors and other electrical equipment.
* Replaces faulty switches, sockets, and other elements of electrical systems.
* Dismantles electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes, and armatures.
* Mounts motors, transformers and lighting fixtures into position and completes circuits according to diagram specifications.
* Inspects completed work for conformance with requirements of local building and safety codes.
Responsibilities Under minimal supervision, performs repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance on buildings and facilities, equipment, fixtures, and systems. Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains facility systems. Performs work based on dispatched service or daily/weekly work schedules. Reviews work as required to document specific needs (materials, supplies, instructions, etc. ). Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Reviews services requests for repairs and maintenance, determines nature of problem, and recommends appropriate solution. Coordinates the day-to-day operations of a group of employees. Coordinates work with outside contractors. Assures code and building standards are met.
Serves as a trainer, lead or subject matter expert. Acts as first point of escalation. May participate in interview, training and onboarding process. May participate in performance improvement initiatives as needed. Reveals mastery of advanced duties of a specialized/technical nature. Encounters diverse problems that require thorough analysis. Serves as a resources to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience: 4 years of experience in area of specialization.
