JOB LOCATION: Kernodle Clinic – 1234 Huffman Mill Rd – Burlington, NC   JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a Senior IT Analyst to be a liaison between the Duke Health Maestro Care team and Duke Kernodle Clinic IT project teams.   This position will identify Super User and End User resources throughout Kernodle Clinic.   Will provide onsite support, organize and prepare the clinic for upgrades to Maestro Care’s EMR, manage issues, provide training tips, and recommend enhancement suggestions.   For work direction, position reports directly to the Support Services Manager at Kernodle Clinic.   JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Act as primary point of contact for Maestro Care upgrades and software related issues for 350 Kernodle Clinic employees and supervisors, along with 91 Providers at 4 different locations (2-Burlington, Mebane and Elon). Kernodle Clinic is a multispecialty clinic with the following departments: Cardiology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, OB/GYN, Surgery, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Rheumatology, Physiatry, Physical Therapy, Walk In, Research, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Bone Density, X-Ray, Laboratory, Endocrinology, Pulmonology, Neurosurgery, and PRMO (Billing and Registration). In order to support all of the departments, they are required to have in depth knowledge (SME) and experience of multiple modules within EPIC, such as Cadence, Beaker, Bones, Radiant, Ambulatory Outpatient, etc. to be able to address and troubleshoot questions and issues.

Attend ongoing Duke and EPIC (Wisconsin based) training to develop advanced knowledge of approved processes and workflows within Maestro Care in order to act as Super User for various EPIC modules required to support Kernodle Clinic departments.   Obtained the following EPIC certifications:  Ambulatory, Ambulatory Principal Trainer, MyChart, EpicCare Link, EpicCare Inpatient, Stork, Cadence (In process) and Patient Billing (In process).       Provide End Users (350 Employees & 91 Providers) with expertise on application functionality by providing formal and informal hands on training as needed. As new applications are developed, improvements in workflow in current applications and upgrades, they will meet individually with physicians, supervisors and departments to roll out and provide this formal hand on training. They will develop customized training based on the specific needs of the multi-specialty departments within Kernodle Clinic.    They will actively lead in clinic data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with Maestro Care software as they relate to system design and build decisions to ensure understanding of departmental workflows and incorporate into training.   Provides one on one Maestro Care system training for new Physicians and APPs (i. e. EPIC Maestro Care preferences) to include initial setup of providers in EPIC (sending Service Now tickets to DHTS EPIC MC Team) as well as their scheduling templates.   Leads Kernodle Clinic EMR Task Force meetings and has developed/mentored a group of super users, so that they can assist other users within the 21 different departments at Kernodle Clinic.

  They will be main point of contact to research all incoming requests from physicians, supervisors and staff to determine feasibility of implementation.   This requires leading/assisting in the development and testing phases of these software improvements and efficiencies for implementation in order to manage the process thru from start to finish. With these requests, they will provide EMR (EPIC Maestro Care) optimization and standardization across all clinical department. Participate on project teams, committees, and Maestro Care optimization work groups; establishes rapport with operational partners as subject matter experts (SMEs) to train and disseminate information within Kernodle Clinic.   Assesses organizational and departmental gaps/learning needs related to Maestro Care software; Develops and implements formalized training plans in response. Point of contact for any urgent Maestro Care upgrades, changes or issues for 350 staff and 91 providers.     Identifies and communicates potential issues with software upgrades in order to manage deployment issues.   Point of contact for over 450 staff and physicians during scheduled upgrades.   Requires advanced learning of features within upgrade across multiple platforms in order to act as SME for Kernodle Clinic for quarterly scheduled upgrades. Develops and documents system and user procedures and quick tips as necessary across multiple platforms and customizes information to be department specific.

  Maintains effective working relationships with physicians, employees, and administration and is readily accessible. Acts as liaison between users and technical analyst to bridge the gap and streamline the corrections/fixes from communication of process to the resolution of problems. Organizes time priorities so that assigned activities are completed within designated timeframes. Demonstrates and / or describes the correct action in response to Clinic emergency codes and building evacuations. Complies with Clinic Safety and Health policies.   JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Office Technology or Business Administration preferred Three to five years of experience in a multi-specialty clinic or other health care environment preferred.   Knowledge and experience using health care information systems.
