The role you’ll contribute: Performs the daily accounting and analysis necessary for accurate and timely preparation of the monthly financial statements for the Hospital and related entities. Applies fiscal knowledge to analyze and improve the accuracy and effectiveness of accounting information and processes.
The value you’ll bring to the team: · Performs accounting for the Hospital and other entities as assigned. · Analyzes transactions and prepares journal entries in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles to record the transactions in the Hospital’s books. · Reconciles account balances to detail documentation. · Maintains files to document account balances and account history. · Prepares analyses of accounts to detail the components of the account balance. · Analyzes variances between actual account balances and budgeted amounts. · Uses accounting knowledge to evaluate financial data, identify issues and develop solutions and suggestions which result in improvements to the accuracy and/or effectiveness of the accounting records. · Works independently with others in the organization to troubleshoot, resolve and improve current practices and processes. · Independently pursues information to broaden his/her understanding and familiarity with current accounting practices and financial reporting software utilized. · Ensures that monthly departmental reporting is prepared and distributed in an accurate and timely manner.
· Performs additional duties as required or assigned. Qualifications The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed : • Working knowledge of and ability to use personal computer and Microsoft Office Products in conduct of job. • Knowledge of and/or an ability to quickly learn Lawson Insight Financial Software. • Good written and verbal communication skills. • Good organization skills. • Ability to work a flexible or extended workweek to meet deadlines. • Ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High School diploma or equivalent 7+ years of Relevant Work Experience EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: Bachelor’s degree (Depending on relevant work experience and/or master’s degree studies, the degree may be with a concentration other than accounting. ) One (1) year accounting experience in a health care environment preferred.
