Description
The student support coordinator manages a caseload of approximately 60 SSS
participants and provides each of them with individualized academic coaching and advising including mentoring, personal development,
Individualized Education and Career Plans (IECP), and other personalized needs.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities will
include:
- Assist students with individual needs, academic planning and advising, mentoring, personal development
activities, and individual education and career plans - Organize and deliver program events
- Assist with recruitment,
development, implementation, and delivery of SSS programs and services - Maintain accurate and updated student data and records
This is a 10 month position, working August – May.
Qualifications
Qualifications for this position include:
- Master’s degree
preferred in Education, Counseling, or related academic area; Bachelor’s degree required. - Minimum 3 years of experience in
counseling or academic support services of low income, first generation and/or minority students. - Knowledge of collegiate academic
and financial assistance procedures. - Experience networking and coordinating program activities.
- Preference given to
candidates who have succeeded in overcoming barriers similar to those confronting the project’s target population
