Fairfax, Virginia, The Inova Fair Oaks Labor & Delivery unit is seeking a Surgical First Assistant to support the unit in a part-time, role . Our L&D unit, which has recently undergone a beautiful renovation, consists of thirteen private labor and delivery rooms, an eight-bed triage/PACU area, and three operating rooms. The types of patients range from low risk deliveries to high-risk patients with pre-existing multisystem medical and obstetrical problems. Requirements: Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Surgical First Assistant or able to obtain certification within 6 months of employment Education and Licensure: Licensed as a Surgical First Assistant with VA DHP. Completion of Surgical First Assistant exam and certification by accredited organization OR medical school graduate with surgical training and certified in the United States as a Certified Surgical Assistant. Certification: BLS via AHA Special Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in English. Ability to work routinely without direct supervision. Ability to demonstrate good judgment in daily activities.
Ability to understand and implement infection control and hospital safety practiced
