Job Description

South32

South32 is a globally diversified metals and mining company with a high quality, well maintained portfolio and highly talented people with strong commercial, technical, industry and in-country experience. We are committed to making a difference from the ground up. We do this by developing high quality natural resources in a way that improves people’s lives now and for generations to come, so that we are trusted worldwide to realise the potential of these resources. Our name is a reference to the 32nd parallel – the line of latitude that links our two main areas of operation, Australia and South Africa. It embodies our regional model, an approach focussed on safety, production, cost and licence to operate, which seeks to reduce costs and increase productivity and facilitates a greater alignment alongside the communities and governments with whom we work. WHAT WE PRODUCE We have a portfolio of large and well maintained operations, which have a long and productive life dating back as far 1926. Each has its own rich history and a significant presence in its local community. As a company, we have a significant presence in each of the commodities we produce. We are the world’s largest producer of manganese ore, and own one of the world’s largest silver mines. We run two exceptionally high quality alumina refineries and modern, cost competitive aluminium smelters. And we run one of the world’s leading ferronickel operations.
