Greensburg Hum-General Admin – Pennsylvania-Greensburg – (23004318)

Technical Director, Pitt Greensburg Theatre Company

The required duties of the position include:

  • Teaching the Basic Stagecraft course (scheduled for Fall 2023 on Tuesdays and
    Thursdays from 10:00 am – 11:15 am)
  • Overseeing students working on set construction (lab hours for Stagecraft)
  • Attending
    regular production meetings (generally Friday at Noon; could be biweekly)
  • Attending some rehearsals
  • Attending paper tech,
    dry tech, full tech rehearsals, and shows
  • Designing lights for a production
  • Purchasing needed materials
  • Serving
    as TD for set construction and each production
  • Providing training for student workers on running crew, lighting crew, etc.
  • Basic maintenance of the stage space (though set up for special events is done by maintenance and/or Audio Visual Services)
  • Understanding of sound design, live sound reinforcement, and wireless/wired microphones
  • Knowledge of set design. Could be set
    designer for productions

The position requires that the person has earned an MFA, MA, or equivalent degree, and a proven record of
successfully teaching Theatre Arts at the University level. This job starts in Fall 2023 and is part-time.
