Reporting to the Director of Academic Technology, the Academic Support Associate position is responsible for a
variety of tasks related to the academic functioning of Berklee NYC. Working with the Program Directors, and others, this individual will
assist in tasks ranging from helping to plan and facilitate educational events to providing support to other staff. This individual needs to
have an acute attention to detail, an advanced understanding of audio, video and lighting equipment, and some understanding of educational
and pedagogical practices.

Workplace Description:

Berklee NYC’s Master of Arts Program will equip students with
knowledge and experience of current practices in artistic fields that have seen significant change and disruption in the last decade. Taking
advantage of Berklee NYC’s location in Midtown Manhattan, adjacent to the theater district, these programs will serve inspired students
seeking to develop creative and technical skills, and the professional music, theater, and live event industries searching for qualified
personnel. Berklee NYC’s Master of Arts Program contains a Core Curriculum and three Specializations: Live Experience Design, Songwriting
and Production, and Writing and Design for Musical Theater.

Berklee operates the largest professional recording studio in New York
City. Servicing clients in the music, film, theater and television industries. The multi-room facility offers audio and video recording at
the highest professional levels. The space also offers services for events and performances. The facility contains 5 recording studios as
well as a black box theater and many other spaces such as a video control room, classrooms, labs and ensemble spaces.

Essential
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage schedule and contact communication for live events.
  • Maintaining mac and pc
    computers.
  • Maintaining educational technology labs.
  • Supporting classroom technology.
  • Assisting in planning
    & setup for educational events.
  • Setting up instruments and backline as well as microphones and another audio equipment
  • Setting up lighting fixtures and operating lighting consoles
  • Moving and setting up video equipment and lighting
  • Keeping track of expenses for academic and performance events
  • Supporting students in their design and operation of events in a
    professional venue

Experience and Competencies:

  • A degree in media, recording, or related field or
    commensurate experience
  • Live performance lighting, video and sound experience greatly preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic
    video systems, lighting or live sound a huge plus
  • Great communication skills.
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work
  • Willingness and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem solving and decision making skills
    while using good judgment and maintaining professionalism.
  • Ability to innovate, prototype and iterate, and apply design thinking
    to curricular design.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, fairness, and equal opportunity.
