The TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) Director is a full-time, 12 month, federally funded
grant administrative position. This position is responsible for the overall planning, development, implementation, management and evaluation
of the TRIO SSS grant. Additionally, the director ensures program compliance with all regulations and requirements of the federal grant
agency with a primary focus on increasing the retention and graduation rates of income eligible, first-generation college students or
students with disabilities.
- Develops, coordinates and implements a variety of educational intervention and support initiatives
to promote the academic success and interpersonal growth of program participants, including teaching University 101 as needed. - Recruits, trains, manages and evaluates TRIO SSS staff and participants.
- Manages the day-to-day budget expenses
in accordance with federal rules. - Develops and maintains effective management information systems, data collection and evaluation
information on program services and progress of participants. - Collaborates with campus partners (such as financial aid, disability
services, housing and enrollment services) to ensure that program participants receive needed support. - Interacts with campus
community to encourage the development of policies and practices that enhance the likelihood of success for program participants, which may
include participation on University committees. Fosters a climate supportive of underrepresented populations across campus. - Prepares appropriate reports regarding the impact of the program on participants and an annual performance report (APR).
- Complies with the regulations and requirements of federal grant agency.
- Attends meetings required by funding sources, which may
require out-of-state travel.
Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree in Student Services or related field and
3 years related experience are required. Must have at least three year’s administrative or teaching experience with a high school or
college age population. Program planning, and budget management experience are required. Good driving record, valid driver’s license
and successful background check are required.
Preferred Qualifications: Grant writing and knowledge of successful
academic support strategies are preferred.
Salary: $56,744 – $70,000; Salary commensurate with education and
experience.
