The Ultrasound Technologist operates ultrasound equipment to make quality images for patients of all ages in areas related to OB/GYN. This individual will be able to perform ultrasound procedures with knowledge of anatomical positioning and physiology. Calibrates and maintains equipment and orders supplies when needed. Patient care is accomplished in a timely, professional, efficient, and safe manner. The ultrasound technologist must be able to think and act independently. Good oral and written communication skills are required. Assists in training and/or precepting personnel in non-invasive ultrasound procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Recognizes significant structures, artifacts, and pathology and equipment limitations.
Sets up and adjusts all equipment and manually maneuvers transducers to perform exams.
Follows protocols and or physician specific orders. Reviews prior images/reports/patient history as needed.
Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures.
Performs routine and complex studies and assists physician in a variety of imaging procedures
Participate in various teaching and mentoring of ultrasound technologists
Able to perform on all age groups from infant to adult/geriatric.
Organizes processed images, measurements, calculations and other data in a logical sequence for presentation to the physician for interpretation.
Consults with the physician as applicable regarding the quality of images and data obtained.
Performs ultrasound and other procedures on patients as directed by Physicians & Advance Practitioners.
Obtains and records all pertinent clinical information relating to the procedure.
Ensures all required written and computer documentation, forms and patient medical records are completed in a timely manner.
Maintains ultrasound supplies and cleans equipment.
Maintains ultrasound equipment. Orders and stocks all ultrasound supplies.
Maintains department records, reports and files.

Compiles information and prepares reports.
Maintains records.
Participates in educational activities.
Follows organizational policies and procedures, including State of Franklin Healthcare Associates Compliance Manual, Code of Ethics and Business Standards, HR Policies and Procedures Manual, Team Member Handbook, OSHA Manual and any other policies or procedures for the job function, department, location or clinic.

Qualifications
Education
Must be a registered sonographer by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certified in (at least) OB/GYN. Does not have to be registered in ARRT.
Experience
Candidates must have a minimum of one year experience, OB/GYN preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Registry with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
Certified in Physics and OB/GYN.
