Job Summary:
The INTO OSU Program is seeking a Undergraduate Programs Academic
Success Coordinator. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.

The Undergraduate Academic
Success Advisor reports to the Undergraduate Programs Manager and oversees the academic success advising for the first-year undergraduate
international students and Ecampus international students.

The INTO OSU center delivers programs and services that support
international students when they first arrive at OSU and throughout their first year of studies. INTO is an organization working in
partnership with leading Universities and investing in the development of world-class international student centers. It specializes in
preparing students for undergraduate and postgraduate study. Each INTO center is managed by a joint venture management board in which INTO
and the partner University are equal shareholders.

Key Responsibilities
Direct Academic Success Advising
(70%):

  • Provides advising to an assigned cohort of international students about academic planning, course registration,
    choosing a major, understanding academic policies and procedures, and using campus tools and resources.
  • Monitors student progress
    and academic standing and provides one-on-one advising on academic skill development, strategies, and resources to at-risk students.
  • Maintains accurate and detailed student records in compliance with FERPA regulations.
  • Collaborates with Graduate Programs and
    Academic English teams to provide academic success advising as needed.

Academic Success & Advising Coordination
(20%):

  • Represents INTO OSU advising on the Academic Advising Council and other relevant campus-wide committees and
    workgroups.
  • Provides oversight for the development, implementation, and assessment of undergraduate advising programs at INTO OSU,
    as well as expertise on student development and retention. Integrates student development and retention strategies into academic program
    initiatives and operations.
  • Conducts progress and registration audits and participates in registration activities for students in
    Undergraduate programs.
  • Delivers informational and skills-based training and shares professional development opportunities about
    academic advising for the Advising teams.
  • Coordinates orientation events for all new undergraduate students who are in INTO OSU
    programs or receiving INTO OSU services at the beginning of summer, fall, winter and spring terms.
  • Develops and maintains the INTO
    OSU Undergraduate Advising Canvas sites.
  • Coordinates International Direct services, including the international first year
    experience class, student and advisor communication, academic success advising, and registration support.
  • Collaborates with the
    student services, administrative (admissions, finance, academic support) and academic teams (Program Managers, Associate Program Managers)
    and the IP ISAs (International Programs International Student Advisers) to advise students of processes, requirements, and standards as they
    pertain to programs at the INTO OSU Center and OSU.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with OSU academic
    advisors, faculty, student support and student care offices, and other departments and agencies on campus. Develops and maintains effective
    working relationships with colleagues throughout the INTO OSU Center.
  • Collaborates with the INTO OSU Learning Center and
    Instructors to provide support for students receiving INTO OSU academic services.

Supervision (10%):

  • Supervises, trains, and mentors Academic Success Advisor(s).
  • Contributes to the professional development of supervisees.
  • Conducts Annual Performance Reviews (APRs).

What You Will Need

  • Bachelors degree in counseling, education,
    international studies, psychology, OR Bachelors degree in any field AND 2 years professional experience in
    academic advising or counseling in a higher education setting.
  • Employment as a professional academic advisor in a college or
    university setting for two or more years.
  • Minimum one year of management or supervisory experience.

designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be
determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those
in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

What We Would Like You to Have

  • Masters Degree in College Student Services Administration, Counseling, Higher Education, or a related field.
  • Strong
    interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with students and staff.
  • Ability to work with people from diverse
    cultures who have various levels of English proficiency.
  • Experience interpreting and communicating policies and procedures to
    stakeholders.
  • Strong decision-making skills, including managing multiple projects, activities, and deadlines.
  • Experience
    working as a team member on projects and implementation of new initiatives.
  • Knowledge of student development theory and intrusive
    advising strategies.
  • Analytical skills that demonstrate the successful evaluation of protocols, procedures, and processes
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, email, databases, and presentation software.
  • A demonstrable commitment to
    promoting and enhancing diversity

$50.000-$54.000
