EOE Position Information: The Vice President, WakeMed Physician Practices, Operations is responsible for the overall performance of departments, service programs, organizational processes, daily processes, and service development projects within WakeMed Physician Practices. Works collaboratively with WPP Executive Medical Directors, corporate services (finance, facilities/construction, legal, IS, managed care, human resources, etc. ), and customers to develop and achieve the strategic goals of the organization, as well as the business plans of designated service programs and departments. Provides leadership, support, and oversight to management and staff in the WPP organization, direction, performance evaluation, and the improvement of operational services and departments. This position reports directly to the Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer and functions as a dyad partner with the Executive Vice President & Chief Physician Executive to set the strategic direction for the practices.

Essential Position Duties and Responsibilities: Quality Care & Metrics – 15% Advocates for the best quality of patient care; ensures quality metrics are achieved through sound clinical processes following accreditation and regulatory agency guidelines. Customer Service Champion – 15% Oversees the effective delivery of customer service, evaluating patient satisfaction to ensure the organization is meeting quality service standards. Models the highest levels of customer focus and service behaviors, coaching others to develop excellent customer care. Financial Management & Oversight – 15 % Directs the preparation of the annual budget for respective agency/division. Manages budgets and costs through the responsible use of planning and control systems which include taking into consideration forecast levels of operations, cost effective utilization of resources and realistic financial variances. Monitors overall financial performance of agency/division and assigns accountability for budget management to direct reports as appropriate. Organizational Excellence Leadership – 10% Facilitates and reinforces, through business processes and performance measures, a mindset for excellence to reduce unnecessary variations, improve clinical outcomes and reduce costs. Care Delivery Oversight – 15% Champions high-value clinical care delivery across ambulatory services by ensuring strategic and organization alignment through planning, implementing and oversight of primary and specialty care clinics. Ensures services are delivered in accordance with regulations, policies, and procedures. Compliance Oversight – Physician Practices – 10% Oversees the full compliance with applicable standards for the licensure and accreditation of the physician practices by exercising management audit and control consistent with applicable regulations, policies, procedures, and programs.

Talent Management Leadership – 10% Serves as a champion for employee engagement and developing a high performing organization. Provides input on organization-wide talent management initiatives, oversees division-specific strategic human resources plan, and participates in the selection of critical positions. Quality Improvement & New Program/Service Development – 10% Initiates and sponsors the development and implementation of quality improvement projects that enhance application and systems cost efficiency, employee productivity and customer service. Identities and implements new programs or services in the areas of needs or interest to stakeholders, which enhance available services and financial viability. Experience Requirements: Minimum of seven years’ experience managing a large group practice (500 + providers) preferably aligned with or part of an integrated healthcare delivery system.
