Job Description
New England Institute of Technology seeks a part-time Writing Center tutor. Tutors are expected to commit to 10 to 19 hours per week.
Flexibility is a must. Day, evening, and weekend availability may be required.
Responsibilities include assisting students in
associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degree programs with a variety of writing assignments, research, oral presentations,
reading, and study skills. Previous writing center experience is a plus. Strong computer skills and proficiency with programs, such as
Microsoft Word and PowerPoint are required. Familiarity with APA style preferred.
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in
English, writing/rhetoric, or a closely related field is required. Applicants must have experience teaching or tutoring students from
diverse backgrounds. Applicants must also possess excellent oral and written communication skills, knowledge of study skills, the ability to
work independently and as part of a team, and the ability to maintain accurate records. This position reports to the Director of Academic
