Job Summary

The Office of University Diversity and Inclusion (OUDI) is committed to “Making Excellence Inclusive” (American Association of Colleges and Universities) by strategically working to embed diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of the university. As part of the Office of University Diversity and Inclusion, this position reports to the Vice President for University Diversity and Inclusion/Chief Diversity Officer (CDO) and is directly supervised by the Assistant Vice President for DEI Strategic Planning & Networks. The Director of Programming, Communications, and DEI Education provides leadership, represents the Office of University Diversity and Inclusion, and performs functions that support diversity and inclusion initiatives, on and off campus, in order to attain the university’s inclusive excellence goals.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and five years of progressively professional experience in the area of diversity & inclusion
Salary and Benefits

The anticipated hiring range for this role is $80,000-$100,000. Note that the offer is calculated based on the background and relevant years of experience of the individual selected.

Supplemental Information

Following a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with Cal Poly. The person holding this position is considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

This position may be “Designated” under California State University’s Conflict of Interest Code. This would require the filing of a Statement of Economic Interest on an annual basis and the completion of training within 6 months of assuming office and every 2 years thereafter.
